Abstract
Since the ancient time India is famous for having rich collection of plants used as spices and hence India has a good export market of these plants. The states in India, which are known to grow spices in large quantities and contribute a major share in the export market are Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Sikkim and Madhya Pradesh. Spices like black pepper, cardamom, zinger, garlic, turmeric, chili, cumin, etc. are grown in large quantities in Southern States.
